Hi, not sure if this is the right section or not, basically I've just made an impulse buy on Ebay in the shape of a Juwel Trigon 350 aquarium complete with cabinet, filter, heater, lighting etc.

The problem I have now is getting it here, I live in Gateshead Tyne and wear and the tank is in Cardigan in Wales, at the moment, as you'd expect all I''m getting via online delivery services are minmum prices of £240!!

This is obviously far too much as that's actually more that I paid for the tank, does anyone know of a service I can use that will cost alot less than that?

Much appreciated,

Kev

Hire a van stick £40 in the tank and go on road trip (unless you dont drive). not many couriers will touch glass due to the nature of it. have a look at pallet sevices as these can work out a lot cheaper get the seller to flat pack the cabinet that will save a few quid

You will find that because the tank is glass, most couriers won't want to know or will give you a hefty price to cover insurance should they break it. Weight is another major consideration as it would involve two people to carry it and most couriers work solo.

The only thing I could suggest is maybe hiring a Transit Connect or other similar small van for a weekend (around £80 plus returnable deposit). Should only cost about £75 in fuel at the most.

£40 isn't going to cover it mate, more like £100! it's approx a 700-750 mile round trip!

Again, I already have a work transit but fuel is going to be in the region of £100

Trying pallet services now...
