Hi...hopefully someone can help me! I have a Maganese(jaguar) fish, about 4 inches long...I'm almost positive that's the name..anyway, he ate my little cory fish and the cory fish is stuck in the Jaguars mouth. My husband tried to pull it out but it didn't budge. Also, he tried to cut the cory fish in half, but that didn't work either. This poor fish looks uncomfortable and can't close his mouth. Will the cory finally get swallowed or will my fish die from this cory fish stuck in his mouth?? He has been like this for almost a day now. Any advise would be great!!
Thanks
Alia

Might be worm putting the fish to sleep with a week dose of clove oil (you will have to check the amount) and then removing the cory.
Chances are its stuck as the barbels have caught in his mouth, so I ould do what you can to remove the cory

Ive seen this happen quite a lot with goldfish that swallow cory.
The problen is the spines on the cory dorsal and pectoral fins. If you attempt to pull it out or the fish tries to regurgitate then the spines open up and embed into the throat.
First you must see if the cory is actually dead, but with your hubby trying to cut it it probably is.
If you can catch the fish and wrap it in a wet flannel or cloth and hold it then your hubby can get a pair of long handled scissors or something similar and try and cut off the fins.
If that fails then you may need to go in through the gills.
If you arent keen on doing it yourself then best to get the fish to a vet where he can sedate and remove the cory.
