Help! 5 Male Golden Barbs After 1 Female

hi all got 6 golden barbs yesterday and last night and 2day they wont leave the female
alone so this morning 7:30am iv but the female in a fish bag with airline till shop opens at 9am so i can get 2-3 more female.
will she be ok in the bag til then?

Try to get as many females as you have room for. For most fish I think you want 2-3 females per male.

Was going to suggest that too Blondie - take some of the males back a swap them for females.

The bag has got to be really stressful, not to mention the ammonia that she'll be producing.  If you really can't put her anywhere else like a breeder net or another tank, change the water a few times daily.
 
Maybe you have a big cooking pot you can use instead of a bag?  Or perhaps a sterile plastic tub/bucket.  Avoid anything that may have soap residue on it.
 
If you find a better place to isolate your fish, throw a few hiding places or decor in to reduce stress.

will be getting the other female in 40mins shes be released into the tank in 1hour with other females

Could you put her in the bucket that you use to do your water changes? Not sure how that would work but its an option.

Just been on phone with PAH and going to take 3 males back and get 3 females and then buy 3more female so thats 7 females to 2 males

Well went to PAH swoped the 3 males for female and said i wanted 3 more females and they said we cant sell u 3 more fish because you had alot of fish yesterday off us ok.. before they caught the 3 replacments they didnt even no witch was female or male lol never getting fish again from PAH.. the 3 female are doing really well with the 2 males thanks every1 for your help

ok.. before they caught the 3 replacments they didnt even no witch was female or male lol never getting fish again from PAH.. the 3 female are doing really well with the 2 males

I work in Pets at Home and it shames me to hear this
 
Granted though the colleagues do not get taught on how to sex 90% of fish. It's very basic rules and regulations on what's taught and unless they're like myself and genuinely interested in fish, better off doing your research before hand. With any LFS regardless, do proper research before hand.
 
In future, ask directly for a manager?

thx you. will do if i do buy livestock from there again. i get all my other supplies for other pets from their cos they have a price promise, if i find it cheaper within 5miles they sort the price out
 
what got me the most angry and disapionted, was on thier bags for fish its instructs you how to put the fish into your tank,, and the person who take the fish back just ripped the bag and let the fish stright into thier tank i was so shocked
