Hello! I'm a 23 y.o. from Australia and came here because of (yet another) bad fish-buying exercise.

I have a blue siamese in 4.5 gallons (well, strictly speaking, he belongs to my 3 y.o. son)

1 small (2.5 inches inc tail) red-capped Oranda mutt in a 2 foot tank

3 guppies, 2 Kuhli loaches and (as of now) 2 tiger barbs in 12 gallons awaiting the magical birthday in 2 weeks when I'm convincing everyone that they should give me money for a bigger tank

1 'naughty tiger barb' whose currently being moved to 6.5 gallons to think about his bad behaviour (until this magical birthday )

Well, it's nice to meet you all and I'll be hanging around and figuring out how to be a better fish-keeper

Welcome to the list - being a "newbie" myself this is a brilliant resource and the members are really excellent and helpful.

I had the same problem with one of my guppies who tail nipped and killed his buddy, he then started to attack my silver mollies so I isolated him for 2 weeks in a small breeding net in the main tank - I released him back into the tank and within 15 minutes he was attacking the mollies again.

So he now lives in a small tank by himself at the minute - I`m just cycling another 33 Gallon tank and might try him in there with my "biggies" (silver sharks + Gibbiceps)
