Hello everyone, I have had fishtanks most of my life, but am recently moving into bigger tanks. finding the new experience with african cichlids to be highly enjoyable and frustrating at the same time. All I have ever had before is mostly peaceful community tanks, so the temperment issue is somewhat new to me.
A couple of questions
- I would love to have 3 or so cory's in my tanks along with my yellow labs and cobalt blue, I have heard some say no, but I would like another opinion. The tank is a 37 gallon corner. I have a red tail black shark which is doing fine with the africans (for now), I am pretty sure the red tail would just school with the corys.
-How far can you transport fish in a plastic bag from your not-so-local fish store, I have always relied on wal-mart for my community fish and done fine but you have to be more selective when buying cichlids. I want to know more about my cichlids than "assorted". I have a fish store in town but that place is a joke and should be shut down.
-Any recommendation on tankmates for the yellow, cobalt blue, and red-tail shark would be appreciated cichlids and others
Thanks in advance for any help
