Thanks! I don't have any tanks or fish yet, that is why I am here. I am not a complete noob. I once had 6 tanks, mostly South American Cichlids, even bred them, but that was many years ago (80's and 90's).Hello and welcome to the forum, when you get a chance post a few pictures of your tanks and tell us a little about your fish.![]()

Ah that depends what you want. You could dive right in and get a 180 gallon with a oscar and some other cichlids. Or you could have a peaceful 29 gallon with community fish and lots of plants. Thanks! I am looking for advice to start a brand new tank. I have been away from fish keeping for so long that I need advice about aquariums, filters, airation, etc.
Step 1: Which aquariums are best?
Most brands are pretty good. You could get fluval if you didn't want a standard size, or you could get top fin. It's pretty hard to go wrong with a tank, what matters the most in my opinion is the filter, lights, heater, etc.Ooops. I only meant to do that once. But please help? 35-55G aquarium. Which brand is better?
Thanks for the reply! I am looking between 30-50G aquarium.Ah that depends what you want. You could dive right in and get a 180 gallon with a oscar and some other cichlids. Or you could have a peaceful 29 gallon with community fish and lots of plants.
Thanks! Would you recommend any "kits" or am I better off getting all the components seperately? Most brands are pretty good. You could start with a kit and build on it as needed. Most of the time the kits are pretty well put together. Thanks! Would you recommend any "kits" or am I better off getting all the components seperately?
