Just wanted to say hello. I'm new to this board. A family member recommended it to me. I purchased 2 male fancy guppies and 1 female fancy guppy on Wednesday. Unfortunately, the female was dead by morning. I returned to the store where I purchased them on Thursday morning and was able to acquire three more female fancy guppies. I was so surprised when I woke up this morning and saw baby guppies in my tank! There are seven of the little darlings and I am so excited to watch them grow and develop. I hope to learn much about guppies through this forum.
:D

:hi: to the forum.

Well, the survival rate of baby fish of any kind (unless the fish are cichlids) is generally very low. :/ Therefore, I would suggest getting another tank, if possible, which would also get you on the right path to MTS (Multiple Tank Syndrome).

As for the female guppy dying, sorry to hear about that. However, giving birth can be pretty stressful (I'm sure some of our female members on here ouwld agree :p) and this alone could have caused the death, not to mention the stress from the two male guppies chasing her down. However, it is a good thing that you got 3 females now, that means that the males' ardor will be spread out a bit more. ;)

Anyways, good luck with the babies and the hobby. Hope to see you around. ^_^
