hello, pretty much just (literally, this hour) acquired an aquirium and 3 fish (2 kissing fish and one tropical sharky thing :p) i've been researching this hobby for about a year and a half but not done much else so it's quite a jump.

anyway:

i need to know how high to fill it and i know i'm being overcautious, but the wires, the are safe to be in the water? i ask this as both pumps seem to be fully submerged along with the wires and the water is still about 2-3 inches from the 'wood' of the tank surround. i'll add a picture in a sec.

Fill with water warmed to about 24-25 deg C and treated with dechlorinator.

Wires are fine - filters and heater are meant to be submerged.

How big is the tank?

must be about 125 litres, juwel.

where can i get dechlorinater in the UK, i need some quick as the fish have been sat in buckets for about an hour an an half now and the water is bound to be getting cold :(

pets at home? tesco may do it, wilkinsons definitely do

would your average asda/sainsburys? my nearest tesco is about 2 hour round trip and there is only the 1 pet shop and that will be closed...

and wilkinsons is a way away as well

try asda and sainsburys they might stock it, otherwise do you know anyone with fish? where are you based?

brighton, i know no one else with fish that would know anything about dechlorinater (most of them just put them straight in :)()

i've just checked through all the stuff i was given and can't find it in there either although i found some mineral salt (-_-) gah!

try asda then, or give whoever you got the tank off a call and see if they just forgot to give it to you.

also post an urgent message for any members in brighton - they may help if there is anyone.
