Hi All,

Found this forum a few months ago and have been doing lots of reading, thought I would sign up and say hello.

I am quite new to fish keeping, it started about 7 months back when we were clearing out a friends garage and he had a slightly damaged 3ft tank at the back he didn't want. I gave it a clean up and set it up with a Rainbow Shark and 9 Guppies (6F & 3M), its a shame but only after I set it all up I learnt about cycling but luckily no losses due to ignorance.

Everything has been going great since then, I am thinking its now time to add some more fish but there is soooo many choices.

I would just like to say this forum has to be one of the best resources I have found, I just wish I had time to read every topic.

Well Hi All from around the World.

Retsys.

Hi and welcome to the TFF. This might be a bit of a daft question, but do you need to have a heater/stat in tropical aquariums in Australia ?

Welcome to the forum, and the hobby.

Hi, I thought it was relevant, over here we are just coming into autum so the overnight low is 15 degrees and today high is 23 degrees, so if I didn't have a heater at all the fish would not be at optimal temp. I did notice in summer when it was 40 degrees that my tank temp would creep up a degree or 2 so I had to lower the heater temp to compensate.

Thanks everyone for you friendly welcomes, if you have any comments or suggestions on stocking then I have another post here
