Like the guy from Oz just prior to me, I have only just found this great forum. I'm not sure if I am doing this right, and I'm certainly not clever enough to put a picture on my page! If someone can explain how to do that, I would be grateful?
I too am a fish freak, having a tropical tank and a garden pond full of Koi. Although I have kept fish for years, there is always something new to learn, so I will be watching these pages with great interest.
I'll try and post this now, and see what happens. Greetings from Paignton in South Devon :byebye:

Hey Grumpygramps, welcome to TFF! :D It's always good to see another older guy on here, I'm in my mid 40's.

To get the picture under your name, click on your name on the top of the page & scroll down to avatar options. You can chose one from the forum gallery, or download your own from your computer.

Have a look around & enjoy yourself, lots of information here, as well as interesting people.

Welcome to the site. There is a very good mix of old and young members here. I fall into the older set.

Welcome to the forum. Koi, I envy you. I just lost mine when Katrina hit FL a few weeks ago. The power went out, and the oxygen levels dipped too low while the temperature became too high. All in all, a terrible combination, which spelled disaster.

What do you keep in your tropical tank? If you figure out how to post pics, you should post them in the members' aquariums section of this forum. We would all enjoy seeing them.

Again, welcome.

Thanks for all your replies, everyone. I have managed to use an avatar as suggested, and I think it is fairly appropriate. I will now start to look around at the other forums, where I can see what kind of topics are going down. I currently have 2 silver sharks, 2 clown loaches, 1 large plecy, 2 red-tailed black sharks, 2 angels, 6 zebra danios and 6 rose tetras ( and a partridge in a pear tree!) My commiserations to the Florida person who lost their Koi - we often forget that it is not only people who suffer from the vagaries of nature.
