Hello everyone, new to the forum. Not totally new to fish, been in it for a year. Still learning, so any tips or ideas please let me know.
I have a 55 gallon tank with so far 11 fish and 2 shrimp.
-2 Dalmatian Mollies
-2 Albino cory catfish
-2 Denison Barbs
-2 Dwarf gourami
-3 Glofish
-2 Ghost Shrimp
Any tips or helpful ideas let me know. thank you.

Hi lcplmouw. All your fish are good in that tank. I would up the numbers of everyfish except dwarf gourami to 7. Welcome to the forum! :)
Before you add new fish, research them and check here.

WAIT... Did you cycle the tank?

Thanks for the input, yes I did cycle the tank. What kinds of other fish to you recommend? I know there are lots but what is your favorite?

Hi and welcome to the forum :good: Good to have you here! TallTree is spot on about you upping the numbers of the fish, especially the barbs and the corys, which are shoaling species and do best in larger numbers. With the mollies make sure you go either all male, or if you want females, have a high female to male ratio so that they aren't hounded continuously. I would advise slowly upping the numbers of these (make sure you don't overload your filter), and then once you have those in nice sized shoals have a think about potentially adding new species :)

Thanks for the help. This website is great there is a lot of info. Thanks for the help again

Nice tank. Get everything but your gouramis and shrimp up to 6, your shrimp will breed if necessary, and your gouramis are good. Are they two males or a male and female because if they are a male and female you need 2 more females.

I'd up the shrimp too, not because they do better in groups but because they look better in groups. As for future stocking, I'd reccomend a single larger fish. Perhaps a peaceful cichlid or gourami. Also, unless your dwarf gouramis are both female you can expect some chasing between them. If you post pics in the gourami section we can help sex your gouramis. :)

Nice when I don't have to tell a forum newbie how terrible their stocking is lol.

Just a few updates on my stock.
2- blue gouramis
2- golden gouramis
2- black mollies
2- silver/ white mollies
5- serpae tetra
3- peppered cory catfish
2- dwarf gouramis (1 blue- 1 red)
1-ghost shrimp
1- denision barb/ or roseline shark

I have had a few losses but eveything is going well now. thanks for all the help guys

Add three more peppered cory catfish. Also do you know the gender of all your gourami? And I don't like keeping mollies with shrimp and corries because from my experience mollies enjoy salt, while shrimp and corries tend to be more sensitive. I would recommend removing your mollies.
