Hi my name is Keith from Manchester England, and have just got into the fish hobby. I am here because to many of my fish keep dying and its getting frustrating I have a jewel 96 compleate set up tank with 6 assorted plants and a gravel base i have 8 platties 3 zebra danno left 5 neon tetra and a plec
plus a 5 gallon tank with 1 sick zebra and one fry that had managed to aviod being eaten till i discovered it.

I guess to start assessing your fish problems you need to tell us about the stats in the tank. Have you got a tester kit? A definite investment worth spending a tenner on as it will teach you about chemistry of your tank and allow you to stop the build up of chemical poisons such as amminia, nitrites and nitrates.

Buy a kit and this will usually tell you what parameters you should be looking to achieve for a healthy tank.

If this doesn't help ask again and we can talk about cleaning, water changes etc...

Anybody else want tp pitch in with some advice for our newbie?
