:) Just wanted to say hello to all.

I am very new to this hobby.

I inherited a 16 gal very neglected tank. It was so green with Algae and cloudy with dirt you couldn't see in. After doing a 50% water change (water not been changed in nearly a year  ) I discovered a scissortail, 2 serpaes, a harlequin and a little glo-lite surviving at the bottom! (these fish must be indestructible!).

After much tank maintenance the tank is almost up to scratch (except a for pesky NO2 problem that I seem to be going 2 steps forward and 1 back with :grr: ). 1 of the serpaes has since passed on (he was 5 years old and battling a swim bladder problem for some time), but the others are going strong.

2 days ago I added

5 jumbo neons (for the harlequin & glo lite to shoal with)
2 albino corys &
my baby - a lovely Colomesus Asselus puffer

Just added some snails for my puffer to chow down on today.

Very addictive hobby - have already bought a second (larger) tank with a view to setting up a Puffer species tank later on in the year.

Welcome, Rory! I hope you love the forum, you'll find it a great resource. If you haven't already read the pinned thead on cycling in the " Beginner Questions" forum you should - It will help you understand the dynamics of your wonderful new tank!

You'll find puffer info in the "oddballs" forum.

Hope you're enjoying the hobbie!
