Hey Everyone!
My Names Danae and im new to the site!
Ive had my 20 gallon tank probably for about 10 months!
through a couple moves and some difficulties, ive finally managed to get a stable tank!
among the tank mates are:

Flounder the Gold Female Gourami
Ariel the Blue Female Gourami
Luna The Opaline Female Gourami
Roxanne the Black Lace Angel
Goldilox the Yellow Angel
Hans the Hi Fin Lyretail Red Male Sword
Gretel the Very Pregnant Hi Fin Red Female Sword
Godzilla the Standard Plecco
Reptar the Standard Plecco
Adolf the Male Red Wag Platy

the Angels and The Pleccos are the only ones that i really dont know the sex too
however im pretty good at deciphering genders of the others.
feel free to ask for help!

7 out of the ten are acctually relatively new to the tank but so far they are adjusting very well.
i think they enjoy the space and the better food.

Unfortunately my decorations are mostly artifical.
aside from multiple shells that i have found cleaned and added.
Im afraid i have yet to grow the courage to add live plants
i worry enough about the family to try to add live plants
so if anyone has suggestions about them feel share.

also if you have any questions about any of the fish that you think i may have answers for feel free to ask

once i have pictures uploaded i'll post them up!

Hope Everyone is doing well!

rather well acctually!
Gretel my Hi Fin Lyretail is probably about two weeks pregnant.
she's not extremely swollen yet.
but you can see the little fry eyes forming.
im acctually quite nervous
but very excited because this is my first pregnant fish!!

the only issue i have is with Ariel my female blue gourami shes super aggressive to the other gouramis
she is the largest fish in the tank but shes not aggressive to the other fish!

other than that everyone seems to be doing well. everyone else gets along. and they really are a beautiful group!

Cool any pics? esp of platy...

Hi welcome to the forum! Congratulations on the pregnant platy! I am raising some cichlid fry atm and it is very exciting :). I think your fighting with the goruami could be that she just wants more space for her self than she can have. Or it could be possible you have a male with an undeveloped fin? I have kept these in the past and they were an absolute nightmare they were some of my first fish and I had 3 then I got a dominant one so too him back then the next one became dominant so I took him back then the final one because dominant and started attacking and chasing my other fish! I reall do hate to be the bearer of bad news as it is obvious you care a lot about your fish but quite a lot of your fish will outgrow the tank you have at the moment - Is your tank a 2 foot x 18 inch x 12 inch?

Gold Gourami - Adult size is 5 inches - Needs at least a 3 foot tank
Blue Gourami - Adult size is 5 inches - unless this is a blue dwarf gourami? Then it will be ok
Opaline Gourami - Adult size is 5 inches - Needs at least a 3 foot tank. - Also good that you got all females but its just the size of them - maybe swap these for dwarf gourami or honeys?
Black Lace Angel - Needs a tall tank and gets to 6 + inches - idealy the very minimum tank is a 29 gallon tall tank.
Yellow Angel - as above - I think maybe swap these out for some dwarf cichlids? Like apistos or bolivian rams?
Hi Fin Lyretail Red Male Sword - Good fish for your tank
Hi Fin Red Female Sword - Good fish for your tank
Godzilla the Standard Plecco - Will grow to well over a foot needs about a 6 foot tank - Maybe replace for a smaller breed of plec idealy like group of pitbulls?
Reptar the Standard Plecco - Will grow to well over a foot needs about a 6 foot tank
Adolf the Male Red Wag Platy - Good fish for your tank

At the moment you would need a 5 foot tank holding around 60 gallons to keep all your fish though this is mainly down to the plecs, With out the plecs you would still need a 4 foot x1 foot x1 foot for your fish to live well. Are your angels a year old yet? If so how big are they? Mine grew from less than 2 inch to over just under 8 inch in a little over a year.

Hey wills thanks for the information!
currently all of my fish are pretty young. and the only one that is really even that big is my blue gourami. but shes still not full size. within the next few months i plan on getting at least a 55 gallon tank if not larger. im not to worried about it at the moment seeing as all of my fish are still pretty young and seemingly comfortable.
there are pictures of them all in my other post

Ah good news on the 55 I would still be tempted to swap the plecs for something a bit smaller though. If you look in the catfish section there is a plec sub section and in there is a fantastic thread on plecs that stay under 8 inches which are perfect for your 55 gallon :)
