silica medium sand cleaned aboud 30 times put in tank with rocks stones filled left running for 1 1/2 days now and water is not clear slightley cloudy

is this normal or not

been advised to wait 1 week to plant plants and then another week before adding fish (according to readings)

also using a 100w Elite heater (keeps falling into water)

anyway before i ask 500 more questions im gonna take this 2 week period to read through this forum

hi there... and welcome...

some cloudiness is normal... you can change some of the water if it persists. just be sue to dechlorinate it.

you could also add a fine filter pad, or floss to your filter.

do you mean your heater falls of it's suckers? most heaters should be completely submerged... if it is the suckers i would advise you to get a visithem heater bracket - they have the best suckers.

hi and :hi: Niiiiiiice Tank! I have the AquaOne 850. Been running for a couple of months now......love it :kana: I found that despite many washes, the substrate left a slightly cloudy tinge. Don't worry, it will clear. Mine did, without any additions except time (about a fortnight) It's crystal now. My filter has 2 compartments and it came with carbon trays, a few noodles and a thin piece of black foam. I took out the carbon trays, replaced the thin black foam with 1" foam (on the bottom), increased the noodles(in the middle) and topped it off with the 1" thick, white fine media. I also placed a very coarse piece of foam in the water return chamber to, primarily, stop the gurgling sound and to supply another bacteria growing place. :drinks:
