the tennants:
5 clown loaches ( all with mutations in the form of unusual markings)
2 glass catfish
3(-1) danios (one tried to cuddle the eel)
5 guppies and growing
2 peppered cory's (one albino)
1 albino bristle nose catfish
and the star:
1 fresh water moray( named smaug)

and don't worry, smaug is settling into a solo tank soon
no more hunting!

thanks for looking

Beautiful fish. I guess if the eel is ok in the freshwater it'll be ok in the long run.

wow that was a quick answer!
thank you for your advice.
i am aware that he is brackish and is shortly moving into a new home, to both isolate him from my beloved clown loaches and to get him in the right water conditions
as gymnothorax tile prefer brackish water on the salty side of spectrum. i plan to rearrage the 55 gallon tank to run salt water in a few months. Fresh water is an intermediate stage that i am using to test my ability to look after fish.
correct me if i am wrong but i beleive the eel will be happy and healthy in a full salt aquarium?

i hear that guppy's are brackish fish too
can someone tell me what sort of 'saltiness' they prefer
i am thinking of using the brackish eel tank to grow out baby guppies.
i beleive that they will be too small for him to bother chasing
i also have a feeling that brackish water for the eel will be to salty for the guppy's :(

thanks again for the reply
