man i read and i did exactly as was writen what should i do
please heeeeeeeeeeeeelp meeeeeeeeeeeeee :-(

what kind of betta where you trying to breed (tailtype)

More importantly did you float her in the tank for a length of time so that they could see each other and let her get used to him and develop vertical breeding stripes and become eggy. If she wasn't in the breeding mood then he would have got fed up and chased and harrased her till she died.

I never leave my breeding betta's alone especially first timers

ok what tank size should they breed in
can they breed in a bowl???? :(

Most people would say no, don't breed in a bowl.

What I have always heard, is this:

10 gallon tank, heavily planted. Put the male in for a few days and let him get used to his "territory". Now introduce the female in a chimney where he can't get to her but they can see each other. He will build his bubble nest if he hasn't already, and show off for her a lot, and she will get breeding bars.

After a few days release the female as long as she looks fit, and then carefully watch them. He will probably beat her up a bit, and she might even beat him up, but if they go at it too badly, well, they probably just don't like each other and the female should be removed to the chimney again, or you just stop trying to breed the pair because maybe they just don't like each other.

Ugh. What the **** is going on here? Everyday you see another person spawning their bettas and end up having this and that die because they dont do research.

they can infact breed in a bowl as many breeders in asia will do this as this is less space consuming but a grow out of 20g is minimum check out wuvmybetta's pinned topics about breeding bettas and revise a little more before you breed again :)

EDIT: here is the web http://www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=37944
i breed mine but luckily my males i have got werent highly aggresive . learn to walk before u can run

As what the others are saying do your research before even atemting to breed

You might as well say you killed her..............arsehole!!

what are you playing at?

I wish dumb people would stop buying petstore bettas to breed them (I'm just assuming; he might not have, but he probably did!). If you don't know what you're doing, don't do it just because you think it'll be cool.

1. Why are you bringing up an old thread?
2. You're new to breeding, don't try to act as if you're a pro.

It is really getting on my nerves how people are bumping boards.. If it's over two weeks old - leave it. PLEASE. Especially if you have nothing better to do than comment on your breeding. :grr: I don't mean to be a downer, but.. really.
