Thank you to all who replied to my post about my Betta's finrot. Due to clean water changes every other day, he is healing up well.

Now my next question is, after it completely clears up, should I be changing his water 50% twice a week?

Well that depends on the size of the tank and your filtration system. If you have a filter and the tank is fully cycled (And 3-5g)you can do water changes once a week and it should all be fine :)

if you have your own test kit, test the water every day for a month and do appropriate water changes...in that time, you will get a feel for when a water changes is needed (depending o nthe test results)..if not test kit, how big is his tank and do you have it filtered. a cycled 3 gal change 30% 2X a weel. for a 5 gal and up you can do once a week.
cheers

He is in a 2.5 gal, cycled and filtered.

I use to do once weekly water changes, and I guess that that brought on the fin rot, and it is clearing up since I have been changing the water every other day.

thats good news!!
once the fin rot is all healed up and you start to see new growth, you could go to 2X a week water changes. keep up the good work.
cheers
