ps i kno im an idiot for not doing a fishless cycle but my old lfs didnt tell me abt this procedure and at the point i had bought fish wich he recoomend blahhhhh silly man.... but i onli found out abt this fishless cycle on here

A cycling tank can take it toll on the gills i'm afraid, as they have to go through the ammonia and nitrite process which takes it toll on the gills.
Are they red and inflamed.
What other fish do you have in the tank, maybe some salt will help if you don't have any scaless fish, but not the full dose as angels can be funny with salt.
Also increase aeration in the tank.

ive got laods coz the guy was like yer u can fully stock with this new tetra safe start ( my bum can u )

2 gouraims
2 corys
2 angle fish
1 kuli loach
6 cardinals
4 glow lights

as im new he probly fort he cud take me for a mug and their is no redness or brown on gills which i know mean nitirite posinioning

cheers wilder

Yes added to many fish to soon you have a loach so i wouldn't add to much salt, how many gallons is the tank.

Angels and gouramis don't mix well, if there still nipping, i would take them back and just keep the gouramis or the angel, though like to know tank size first.
Also get your water tested and tell them t write the readings down for you.
I would invest in a master kit liquid ones are the best as its important to know your stats.

ok yer sure its 96l which is 25g i think also i have a test kit last chek

amonia 0
ph 7.6
nitrite 0.6
nitrate 0

temp is 26c

cheers again wilder im going to change kit coz i think its crap its interpet and all tablet form lol

I would just add one tablespoon full of salt, get some tank water in a container add the salt and mix till it disolves, then add to the tank, just keep an eye on the loach to make sure he's ok with the salt.

thx ever so much realli grateful for the help and so quick cheers ill let u now how it goes cheers again

man i love this site !!!

Ok good luck as there not out of the woods still got a far way to go.

done the salt all the fish moved away from it ??? lol odd like very fast hope thy gna be ok this wnt slow my cycle will it

They will move away while it get around the tank, salt sometimes can knock filter but i wouldnt worry, it more to help them with the stress of the cycle and protect them.

Nitrites affect a fish's blood from adsorbing oxygen. Often more aeration will help. Either a couple of airstones, or dropping the water level if you have a hob or cannister will create more surface motion, increasing the O2 level. Also, cooler water is capable of holding more O2 than warmer water, so I would drop the temperature if possible, though no lower than 76F.

That tank is overstocked for a mature tank, way overstocked for a cycling tank, bring back at least half the fish while they are still alive.

its nt overstocked it 23inches of fish which is correct i have 2 inches left and yes tht is fully grown its a 25g tank and i asked on here many times how many i was aloud on the beginner section also i am going to get a airstone today and since i added some salt the angel fish seems brighter and less to the side !!
