The inch per gallon guideline applies to slim bodied fish with a maximum adult size of 3" or less. It also applies to cycled mature tanks. For cycling, one inch of hardy fish per 5 gallons is recommended.

Angels and gouramis are not slim bodied fish that are under 3â€￾ maximum adult size, so the guideline doesn’t apply. Angels need 10 gallons apiece minimum as adults, I would imagine a healthy fat adult gourami needs the same. Corys do best in larger groups, at least 4 if not 6 corys make a nice group. Cardinals & glowlights are just over the size that angels would consider as food, they may give it a try as adults.

oh ok sadly my angels died last night one and then anuva like soon afta one was ill the other no apparant signs realli odd also i was worrid about the gouramis so i took them bk now all i have ti 2 corys 6 cardinals and 4 glowlights which are all doing fine

Sorry to hear about your losses, but glad you could bring the gouramis back for now. Thre are plenty of people on this site willing to help with stocking questions, or whatever questions you may have concerning aquatics. Once the tank is cycled you could add a few more corys, as well as a centerpiece fish such as a gourami, and end up with a nice balance of fish with a good looking tank.

Sorry R.I.P.
