Whats the best way to heat a large tank, with one large heater say 500w or so or with two smaller ones. I'm currently getting bad heat swings on my tank going from 26.9c to 24c. Currently it is heated with a 300w heater that is rated upto 1000L

Yeah i agree with OohFeeshy, 2 heaters is usually best for such a large tank as it'll be easier for them to heat the tank more evenly and easily  .

thats what I suspected.
Is there away you can daisy chain them so they work as one as opposed to fighting each other?

As long as you buy
two of the same heaters
then you can set them to the same
mark. I'd put one at each end to
prevent getting a "hot" and "cold" side :good:

Could try that but I suspect that even if I bought two identical heaters their internal thermostat could vary.
What I would like is a probe that controls both heaters. I'm sure you can get them but I can't seem to find the setup on the net anywhere

If you have a Canister / Sump why don't u consider buying an inline heater like the Hydor? My dad's got it on a 75g for a while now and it works quite well...
