What is the recoomended wattage per gallon?
For a 14 gallon american which filter would ou reccomend?
For a planted 14 gallon tank what wattage light?

5 watts per gallon. Look on the calculators and conversionspinned topic, the one down the bottom calculates wattage of lights and heaters based on tank dimensions.

For heating a maximum of just over 2 watts per gallon (2 watts per Imp. gal/0.5 watts per litre. Then the wattage goes up according to difference between required water temp and room temp in centigrade ie: for a 10/12 imperial gallon if tje difference is 2 degrees then you need 9w if the differedce is 4 degrees you need 19w (goes up in 10's).

Saying this, the lfs can recommend most heaters to match any tank.

Lighting: Small tanks not suitable for spotlights. Also depends on plant types/fish. Combination lighting is best with one freshwater fluorescent tube and one tropical which will meet needs of both plants and fish.

Good luck and happy fish-keeping.

For filters you could get a penquin mini, the smallest aquaclear, the smallest whisper, a box-type filter, a sponge, etc. There are many options. What do you plan to do with the tank?

Its going to be a community tank. Its got 2 cherry barbs, 6 glowlight tetra and a bristlenose plec. Suggest brands and a power for lights/heater/filter.

Penguin BIO-Wheel 125: I like this is it internal?
