Heaters In Tanks

ive seen a lot of photos today, and noticed somebody else commented on it aswell - why do people stick their heaters across the back of the tank in the most clear to view position possible ?

i cannot think of anything that ruins the look of a tank more than having a big glass/plastic bar suctioned to the back pane right in the middle of the tank. am i missing something ? im sure somebody will say to get even spread of the heat in the water or something, but ive got a heater inside my juwel internal filter, in the box, and the water in my 4ft long tank is the same temp everywhere.

why not tuck these heaters away in the corner so they dont look so ridiculous ?

I think why a heater is placed at the back is down to it being on a larger surface where water flow is greater. Heaters that are inside a filter or attached to the filters flow pipe work better because they are in a constant flow.

i have rena smart heater being used as external filter pick up with a plant safe distance in front,when plant grows little more itll be a case of what heater!!!
