I've got a few 5.5 gallon tanks for my male Bettas and need to get new heaters (not happy with what I have now). I've pretty much decided on the Marineland Visi-Therm Stealth but don't know what wattage I ought to get. Not sure if their packaging is accurate as to the best size? Package says to get a 25 watt for tanks up to 8 gallons, or a 50 watt for tanks up to 15 gallons. Obviously if I follow that, I should get the 25 watt. Any good reason to have a 50w in each of those 5 1/2 gallon tanks or just stick with the 25?

Thanks!

Hi, Go with 1 watt per 1 Litre, so presuming those volumes are using the US gallon measurement

5.5 = 21 L so a 25W is your best choice,

a 50W would obviously heat the water much quicker, but use twice the amount of electric,

Thanks so much Davo ... I will go with the 25 for each of the 5.5 tanks, then. :)
