the temperature here in LA has taken a sudden drop. Now even with my heater on high my fish tank cant even stay above 72 degrees farenheit. Is there any way i could warm it up? is an extra heater possible?

What size tank and heater, you may be undersized.... What temp do you have your house at? I live in Michigan and my 200w heated heats my 46 gal. with no problems and it's 16degrees outside.

Adding another heater will help because you will be adding more heat to the water.

I can not think of any other ways at the mo but you should act quick before the temperature problem becomes worse.

i have a heater that says its good for a 30 gal and this is a 20 gal

Ill just get an extra heater and monitor for too much heat. -_-

just really heat the room, it keeps the fish warm and your toes!

i also live in michigan :D and i have no problem getting my tank to get up to 80 degrees despite it being 30 outside

There is no way it gets as cold in Louisiana as it does in upstate New York. I live a couple hours from Canada so I know what cold is. I have no problem keeping any of my tanks at temperature. Are you sure that your heater or thermometer isn't broken?

I'm from northern Ontario, Southern Canada is warm in winter for what I know! :p

Southern quebec and Ontario do get quite cold however because of the humidity in the air and the wind, if it weren't for that, it would be quite warm
