Heater In A Plastic Bin

I'm thinking of making a make shift tank for some eels that i'm thinking of getting. It a 15gal plastic storage bin, but I am concerned about putting a heater in it. I'm thinking the heater will probably be submersible, would this be ok?

If it is not a massive heater (say something around 100w or less) it should probably be ok. Make sure it is not in direct contact with the plastic and it should be fine.
