Heater Failure

I don't know if luck is on my side, but I've never had any heaters fail since I started keeping Tropical aquariums. I still use the 50W heater I had in my first tank from 5 or so years back.

I had a green ebo jaeger run accurately for many years - 15 plus. And other that were done in three. Disasters from heaters? Over the last 10 years, I had some shut off and some tanks that got cool. And one shot the tank up to 35c (set for 24) when I was testing it in a fishless set up.
Before that I would estimate one in 3 heaters caused fish deaths. Early on, it happened a lot more than now.
