Heater Buzzing

I noticed this morning that the heater in my betta tank is making a quiet buzzing noise. It is one someone gave me so I dont know how old it is I have taken it out do you think it is dangerous?

A buzzing heater is not a good sign. I have yet to have one of mine do that, and would be worried if it did. Heaters are pretty cheap, mixing water with electricity could be dangerous.

Heaters are the usual suspect when people get zapped from a tank, a gfi outlet or powerstrip should be used with any aquatics related equipment.

yes..thanks...gonna have a chilly betta. I had him in a split tank but the little nippers kept squeezing through!

This was my buzzing heater Buzzing heaters are really not a good sign. Switch it off before sticking your hand in the water.
