Heater Angle

as long as there is water movement all around the heater it doesn't matter.

just don't let it sit in still water as some of the water will be really warm and some cold.

:good:

Ok, thanks. just wondering, it will be right behind my filter where the intake is, so good distrubution.

you shure you need one atm with this weather, im unheated at 24C and it hasnt dropped below 20 in the past week so glad i stopped keeping coldwater fish in tanks

having it vertical can make the thermostat think the water is hotter than it is, because of the rising heat, or so i read, on here actually :p i keep mine diagonal just to be safe

my unheated litte tanks in my room went over 30c quite a few times already lol, most was down to faulty heatinng but today it was pushing it again.

Thanks, but yes, i do, in the night it can get cold, so the temprature will decrease, Also there will be the problem of temprature fluctuations, so its much safer!

Thats a good point, but if you have sufficient flow around the heater, its not a problem at all. Ill aim my filter flow at it. plus the heater water will be getting sucked up into the intake which is right next to it!

so if you have the heater next to the filter vertical it will be ok?
