How is the angle of the heater?

The tank is now home to 10 Ember Tetras and 5 Pygmy Corys ( 7 more in a few weeks).

I let the light off all night.

All fish are happily swimming around and have also eaten some food I added.

Is the heater position ok as it is?

Also any further plants? Is it too late for a few bits to be changed around?

The images have been added to the Forum gallery if a closer look is required.

Regarding the fish I did a test earlier:

Ammonia 0.2
Nitrite 0
PH 6.5
Nitrates 0

I donhave a bottle of Fluval Cycle due to be delivered this afternoon just in case.

The heater angle's fine. It just has to stay in the water. But you have room for many more plants. It's more budget for most of us. With patience, which few of us have, the plants will grow in.

The fish won't compete for swimming space?

It's not a plant from their habitat, but both fish you have would like Cryptocorynes. They'd use the leaves for cover. Amazon swords would be more natural, but that's a small tank most swords would outgrow.
I've never had a tank where the plants inconvenienced small fish. Small fish like cover. It's a dangerous world.

I have heaters in just about every angle, and all work fine... I will admit, maybe shorter heater life, when mounted horizontal along the bottom, but that may just be because the accumulation of mulm and gunk, in and along them shortens their life, running a gravel vac along them once in a while, may end up increasing the equipments useful life???
