Heat Pads/mats

would you use them?


i have a few desk tanks lying around and would LOVE to put some fish in them (1 fish per tank that is)

the thing is, they are too small for a heater. so i was thinking about getting a heat mat or something to place them on. i know they are expensive, i just want a quote sort of thing.

is this the sort of thing you would use or am i totally off mark?

I'm using one for the fry that are in cups and netty uses heat pads for fry too. I don't know if they would be strong enough to heat through a glass tank though. I've got small heaters, about 7" long for the smaller tanks.

these tanks are only plastic, does that make it better or worse?

also, is the link the kind that you normally use or is there a special one for tanks?

they could easily heat up the water, however you'd have to use a thermostat to make sure it doesnt get too hot and catch fire.... which could probably make the whole thing cost about £30.

you could get tiny heaters for £10 lol.

yeah but im from australia and the currency conversion is crazy!

plus i doubt they would ship to aussie, and even if they did, again.....the money!


oh well, ill just keep doing my research i guess
