Head Banging Guppy.

We recently moved a couple guppies into our 20 gallon, 1 has this strange habit now of pecking on the silicone sealant, as well as occasionally suction cups holding the heater. Any ideas? Stress from moving? Parasites?

have you fed them yet? give them time to settle down they should be fine.

Yes i agree,give them time to settle down.Mine still do that sort of thing even now and they have been in the same tank for a year

Okay thanks for the replies. They've been in their new home for 4 or 5 days. He kinda pecked at a pea we cooked up for them last night. But not sure how much he ate. I really think he might be missing his girlfriends, he was in a co-ed tank with a few females, but after already having one guppy give birth to 15 fry, we decided since these things breed like rabbits we better seperate them or we'll end up with 15 tanks by Christmas lol.

bless him, i bet hes wandering what happend lol, i know what you mean about fry one female guppy i had gave me 40 fry but most got eaten, mind you even without a male they can keep havin fry for up to seven months , hope hes ok now,donna

My female guppy was pecking at a jave fern which I thought fish left alone. She did this for several days : nuzzle and peck. I finally took out the java fern and looked. The guppy was going after the algae on the leaves.
