This Guppy was given to me as it was unknown what was happening, this is a young fish at around 2.5cm long. It's the size and colouration of a female guppy but it then started to develop a gonopodium (male breeding organ).

This fish was also getting fatter and fatter. Sadly a week after getting this clip it died. I did a little autopsy on it and it was full of fry!!!!!
Although i could not see any testes on the fish but it had decomposed a little first.

huh! Maybe it was deformed? Like, a birth effect/mutated fin? Either way, it's too bad she died. She wasn't full term enough to save any fry?

It was able to move the fin like a male so it had the right muscel groups, when i found it, it was several hours dead, so no chance to save fry.

Nice Find! I wonder what it was, or if it was both!

I did try to see if it had testes but it had decomposed to much by then.

Maybe it was a hermaphrodite fish?
I have heard of bettas laying htie own fertile eggs. Could it possibly be the same with her/him?
Interesting fish.

Also I was thinking, maybe that one fin just got pointed while she was swimming and just ended up staying that way?

The fin was not quite fully developed gonopodium, the gonopodium has a different structure than the normal fin so it's defo a strange fish
