My 2" bristlenose is missing this morning. I have lifted up all the plants, ornaments etc to check where he is and I cant find him.

The only place I have not checked is inside my Aqua One internal filter, because I cant pull it apart, its to hard and even my husband who is strong had trouble opening it when we first got it.

If he is in there, is he safe, or are we going to open it up and find a dead catfish, or possible ripped up catfish from the propeller (I think it has one)?

I am really sad, and quite frantic about it.

Other than that, he had no signs of disease etc, so I dont think he has died in the tank, just possibly in the filter.

HELP!

Turn the filter off and if there a gap for him let him come out.
If he dosn't come out in ten minutes you will have to open the filter up.

Youre absolutely 100% not in an ornament?
I couldnt work out where my BN went one day. I was cleaning out the tank, took all the ornaments out but no sign. 4 hours later i put the ornaments back in after cleaning the tank and giving up finding it and it was in one of the ornaments.
It was still alive as well which is amazing.

If you suspect the filter then you really have to find a way of getting it open.

check around and under the tank. he may have jumped. if he did, he is probably either dying or ded

Its ok guys, I can breath easy.

I finally got the filter open, he wasnt in there. Checked everywhere again, no where to be seen, but just then I had a look and I found him sucking on a UGF canister.

Omg thankgod he is ok. I added my dwarf gourami yesterday and I thought he might of killed him and gobbled him up.

Thanks for your help.

Thanks

I am a real panicker I love my pets so much, hate to see any problems.

Glad he's ok.

Glad he's ok! I know what you mean about being panicky!
One of my danios went missing suddenly and I was a mess. I checked the filter, checked all of the ornaments.. and she was nowhere to be found. I didn't thinks he would've been able to jump out of the tank considering that she would've had to jump over 2 inches and then wiggled her way through a tiny crack, THEN over a ledge... but I couldn't find her for the life of me.
The next day though.. who do I see? Yep.. it's the missing danio!
Also had a scare last week. Another one of my danios ended up missing. Once again, I moved everything, but she was nowhere. I went to put back a plant that had come loose and to my surprise, I spot a teeny yellow tail under one of the larger black rocks in the back of the tank! I FREAKED out thinking she was dead.. had somehow gotten smooshed or something, but she darted out once I moved the rock that was over her.
I think she did it on purpose.... I had to fish her out to treat her fin rot.. and when I was trying to net her, she nose dived right into the rocks and started squiggling trying to get under them so I couldn't get her. It was really weird seeing her do this b/c I hadn't read that they did this :p lol

Glad he is ok Bn Plecs are great at hiding and stubborn at times and won't detach from objects even if taken out of the water
