Hi,

Have been to The Goldfish Bowl in Oxford today, fantastic shop(used to go all the time),
Anyway saw a puffer that looked like a valantino but had yellow spots all over it.Its face had the yellow spots and black lines. It is a stunning fish IMO (but I do love those puffers). The guy in the shop said it was an Hawian Valantino, I can't find any info about them does anyone here know about them?

Edit

It may be Canthigaster jactator

Stays small (4 inches)
conflicting reports as to how peaceful it is.

Most of them seem to have white spots, but here is a picture of one with green/yellow.

Hawaiian Puffer

seems a nice looking fish. I wouldnt trust any puffer in a reef tank though. whilst there are a few triggers i would take a chance on, a puffer is something i wouldnt try.
I read that they can be kept in as smal as 20 gallon but i would be certain that they needed massive skimming and filtrtion as all puffers are notoriously messy eaters and give out high waste nutrients.
This is just my observations and theories however, i have no personal experience with this fish.

Hi,

Thanks for the pic but that is nothing like it , that it why I am confused.

It is same as the valentino , black, white and yellow, but this one had yellow spots all over its body .a black face instead of white with two lines of yellow spots.

LFS said it was a very rare one, beginning to think its a snazzy valentino and he is just telling me porkies.lol
