Having Troubles Uploading Pics

hi all

i've been poking my head in the forums every so often. I wanted to put up a couple of pictures in my posts, but seem to be having issues. what are the proper procedures for this? btw, theyre just regular pics i uploaded from my digital camera.

The easy way to place a picture on this forum, and many others for that matter, is to upload them to a place like photobucket. Once you have your pictures there, just copy the IMG link that they provide and paste the link into a post here as if it were so much text. The end result is what looks like a picture right here to any viewer. This is a picture that I have done that way of a young harbor seal that I stumbled across when I was on vacation a couple of years ago.

what is an IMG link ?

My photos are in Photobox if that makes any difference...

Your host should supply a range of links next to the photo, one of them will have [IMG*][/IMG*] around them but without the asterisks, just paste that link into one of your posts.

Thanks - just tested this now......

The link works but it doesn't post the photo, it is just a link to my private album so it doesn't allow me to remain anonymous. Not the correct type of 'Host' I imagine.

When I use the normal upload facility on the forum it says the file is too big so I need to find a way to 're-size' it I guess.

I'll have a play around.

Try using Irfanview, it's a free photo editing program that is great for resizing pics.

the link you post, highlight it and click the image tool on the tab above where you are typing, it should wrap it in IMG tags and post it correctly.

Just tried that and TFF message came up


You are not allowed to use that image extension on this board.
