Is the split in the cocking around the bottom of the tank? If so, you can go to your local hardware store and get some cocking, made for water use of course, and just put it over the top of the split and use your finger to spreed it around and press it into the split.

If the tank is new then take it back and get a replacement.

Glass silicon is available from any hardware store and can be used.

Check the rest of the tank for any discolouration in the silicon that is currently there. It should not be cream or white in colour and should not have any air bubbles in it. If it does look cream or have bubbles in it, you might need to rebuild it.

Agree with Colin, take the sucker back and get a good one. You do not have a fishless cycled tank when you set it up yesterday. At best you have an empty tank with water in it. There will be no problem returning it and getting a new one unless there is something wrong with your local fish shop.
