i have saved tons of bettas in the last few years. i have none now though. and no pictures. this one male, was terribly sick looking, and my sister bought him. he looked better and better but then got like a tumor or ulcar on it's head. i gave her melafix but i wasn't fast enough to cure the little guy
i had another one, in a 3 gallon. he was beutifal for a walmart fish, well, after i medicated him for like 3 weeks...
i eventually saved a little female. then i wanted to have the male and female together so they wouldn't be alone. i knew it was hard to do it without the male bothering her but i did it. i had a big plant with hiding places. i slowly introduced them both and they eventually seemed like they were in love. and if he was in a bad mood it was very easy for her to avoid him. they did so good together. then after a while, the female passed away. then not long after that the male did too. but they both were probably 2-3 years old. so it was natural causes i am guessing.
my local walmart doesn't have many bettas at all and i think they may stop selling bettas AND crabs in cups! so WHOOO!!!
thats atleast saving 2 bettas and a crab every day, lol. who knows if they even feed there fish there, the ones in cups....
i bought a crab there tyring to rescue him, he looked sick, i am not a crab expert. but he didn't move much and he looked like he was on meth or something. he seemed to love his own 10 gallon. the only ohters in there was some bass minnows, my crawdad baby (about 6 months now i think) and he has lots of shells to hide in and stuff. he liked going on top of the big shell and just standing there looking around the garage. he was like king of the tank. then he died. sad thing was, he died in his favorite spot, on top of that shell
i know it's not about crabs too but i just wanted to share his story. he was a red claw.
i won't start talking about goldfish or fish with open sores i've tried to help. i own an animal rescue organization, so i could go on for a long time. but not in the mood for a novel.
