Ok. I have a 55 gallon tank with the following occupants:

3 blue gourami
3 great danios
3 serpae(sp) tertras
2 green tiger barbs
2 bumblebee catfish
1 chocolate algae eater

I was wondering if that is plenty or too much. I've had all these for about 3 months now and have not had a problem yet. Am I going to have any problems in the future with this? Thanks for information. Later, QD.

Most people quote that you should allow around 1 US gallon per 1 inch of adult fish. This needs to be taken sensibly though. A fish that eventually will grow 10inches will not be happy in a 10 gallon tank. Likewise. Very skinny / slender fish that dont poo a lot may be OK for 2 inches per gallon. Look up you fish. Add up how many adult inches you have. If its 55 or less youre quids in. If it goes miles over youre overstocked.
