I bought a job lot of plants from an ebay seller, 11 bunches for £10, and added them all to the tank today. I wanted to increase the plant cover but I think I may have gone too far.

I'm concerned that I've created too many hiding places, and I'll never see my fish! Also does it look a bit too crowded now?

Not a great pic but hopefully you can see what I mean. Tank is 60 x 30 x 35, fish are as per my sig below.

i like it :) :good:

looks good to me

I wouldn't worry about giving them too many places to hide - if they want to hide, they should be able to! I'd say that any caring fishkeeper would give their fish the habitat in which they can behave naturally, so well done

Thanks for the comments everyone :good:

I'm experimenting with photographing my fish, so here are a few more to share.

Can you spot Bertie the BN plec -_-

Proof that guppies eat algae tablets. This little guy is called Fred and belongs to my 7 year old son. Lovely colour IMO.

This is a shot of Oliver, my 4 year old daughter's blue guppy, schooling with the x-ray tetras. The photo doesn't do his colours justice, he has a lovely deep blue tail with what looks like a lacy pattern around the edge.

It looks good, the plant on the right, the red rotola macranda needs high light (2WPG+) and co2 so unless you have a high tec set up then remove it otherwise it will rot, also the plant with the white edges is none aquatic, it looks like a draceana species which is a house plant, it is often sold in the aquatic business.

Thanks for the advice :good:

I thought the one with the white edges looked like a house plant. What would happen if I leave it in?

Shame about the red one. But I don't have CO2 and I only have on 15 watt lighting tube, so it might not work out.

I think I need to post in the planted tank forum, because I think I need to know a bit more about keeping these new plants healthy.

The Draceana will rot eventually, so remove it now before it does :)

Love it. I think it looks so much better when tanks are 'crowded' with plants.
