Just had confirmation through today that my order of the 30" plant selection from plantsalive has been shipped..I was just wondering so I can be prepared for their arrival as to whether or not i have far too many? It's going into my currently unplanted 125l tank with just a large piece of bogwood in the centre! I have the standard T8 lighting from the Fluval Roma 125 and also a Nutrafin co2 kit. Substrate is gravel but I'm 99% sure to change to sand tonight I think!

Included in the selection is;
5 x Elodea Densa
1 x Aponogetum Crispus
5 x Elecharis Parvulus (Dwarf hairgrass)
10 x mini amazon sword
5 x Bacopa Monnerii

5 x Twisted Vallis

10 x Sagittaria Natans
5 x Rotalla Indica

5 x Hygrophillia Polysperma

5 x CAbomba Cariolina

5 x Ludwigia Mullertii

5 x Cryptocoryne Wendtii

5 x Straight Vallis

10 x Mayaca Fluvittalis

Will any of these in particular be any trouble for me?

Thanks very much :good:

There's no such thing as too much especially when first planting and even more especially for a newbie to planting. More plantmass will help keep the algae away.

Other benefits are you can easily remove plants but have to go out and pay more to add plants.

You will also have plenty to practive aquatic gardening on first before moving on to doing a more in depth setup.

Learn on the cheap plants and once learned then you don't mind paying for quality plants :)

Also as a fellow beginner to plants i feel that it is best to allow for unforeseen circumstances, i.e. plants not taking, dying off too quickly, not having enough light to grow, etc etc.

not having enough light to grow

Not many tanks in this situation these days!!! Don't believe the myths you read on light.

Interested in your thoughts on this. I've just acquired from a relative an older Juwel tank (probably a Rekord 80) which has a single light (probably the standard 20W light). Its my first experiment at a planted tank and I've got a Nutrafin DIY yeast kit on the go, along with the JBL Proflora start kit and the JBL undergravel heater. Just planted it up with a few plants a couple of days ago and intend to add more at the weekend but was wondering/worrying if I need to do anything about the light set-up. If I can avoid spending cash on lighting if I can help it.

read the thread (and link) just below (or above if someone else has posted) called Do we really need high light at all.

Enlightening<------- and refreshing to say the least.
