Hi

I recently bought 3 dwarf gourami's from my LFS 1 powder blue and two flame red. I was told the powder blue was a male and the flame reds females.
Having read more about the dwarf gourami i think the flame reds are actually males. They have a lot of colour and are not silver like most people say females are. The tip of the head is silver but the body is a vivid red and the fins blue. Is it possible to get females with colour or have they been mis-sold. Do i need to worry about having 3 males together?? They seem to be getting on at the moment but have only been in the tank 3 days

Thanks

Stu

you most likely have 3 Males, females being much smaller and a dull silver in colour as you know.
what is the tank size and how open/dense is it?

IME, more than one Male Dwarf Gourami = Blood-Bath

As Davo says above, it would sound like three Males you have...

All the best

I see, the tank size is 180 litres and is planted with about 50% bottom coverage of plants and a couple of rock caves and some bogwood. The plants are about 3/4 of the height of the tank.

Do you think i should return two of the males to the fish shop
