Hatchery. When To Use?

Hi there

Relatively new to TFkeeping (4 months). My yellow peacock guppy is pregnant and i am wondering when to put her into the hatchery. She has had a drop before (8 Fry), so did her mate (5 fry) so the separate tank i use for fry is now pretty much full, so This time i am to keep them in the hatchery for a week or so and release them into the tank, what i need to know is when to put the mummy into the hatchery box?

She just stays at the top corners now away from every body in the last day or two

Well, she could be anything from a day or 3 to a less than week away.
She should become more square around the belly like this...

firstly if you put her in too soon she may become stressed and swim like a maniac trying to get out.
Also if you put her in too soon, you will either have to feed her in there or let her out and she may not like going back in again. , feeding her in there will give you the extra problem of food in the bottom of the hatchery which will go rotten and that's not good for baby Guppies who will not be able to swim yet and a pain to clean while in the tank.
you could put a leaf or two in there with her for a bit of shelter, either way she's almost, almost .. there.
Keep a close eye on her for the next 48 hours, then maybe dump her in.
Exciting i know... but b4 you know it you'll be overrun with babies and pregnant females every two weeks.
