Has wal*mart hit Australia?

Why do they put crap like that on their website? One fish per 4.5 litres??? That's about 1 fish per gallon rather than 1" per gallon. Let's see, that means I can put 10 plecos in a 10 gallon tank or maybe 10 bala charks. Even the little fish in the pic on that page looks like he's sad and frowning. I would say that I'm glad we don't have those over here in the states but we have the king of fish abuse here.

How strange.... I'm suer thats the exact same advice as on the Pets At Home website *runs to compare*.

From pets At Home
'A single goldfish may be kept in an unfiltered bowl which will require a weekly 30% water change to keep the water fresh. Goldfish need oxygen in the water to breathe and this enters through the surface of the water. A goldfish bowl will only have enough surface area to provide oxygen for one fish. As a general rule you will need 4.5 litres of water for each small goldfish.

A tank with some filtration will enable you to keep the water quality better creating a healthier environment for your fish and allow you to keep several fish in a community.'

To be fair to them, their tanks in the store were in good condition, only the bettas were mistreated.

If i dont get a reply from them in the next week, i'll probably phone -_-

Those look about like the walmart cups over here. They are larger than some I've seen and smaller than some I've seen. So not as horrible as it could be. I couldn't believe that site!!
