No, no experience. I've heard both good and bad things about it, all anecdotal. There isn't enough information on the product to make an objective valuation.

thats the trouble ive found, no real reviews. ive used it and am recording the results daily so we shall soon see hopefully!

It's really hard to be objective as you need to have 2 identical setups; temps etc all the same. Seed one tank with evolution and leave the other as your baseline test.

Then measure everything!

If you are doing a true silent cycle, even if they did something re nitrifying bacteria, you don't need them. That is the whole point of a "silent cycle." The plants bring in bacteria on them as well as their ability to uptake ammonium. In a well planted tank more of the bacteria are in the substrate and on the plants than in the filter.

I'm kinda left wondering what's the point?

i have never had a heavly planted tank so never tried a silent cycle, i thought id try them (as MA said it wouldnt hurt to add them)
so far all the readings are ok and looking promising :)

They are a good product for maintaining tanks at times when you have had problems or might be dosing medications or changing over filters or tanks a little bit hazy etc...

But it does even state on the product that it is not suitable for actually cycling a tank from scratch. MA were right in that it wont hurt, it wont be hugely beneficial though either.
