Okeydokey. That's better, so less than 1WPG with T8s I'm assuming. Is the tube about an inch wide or smaller? How are the plants growing? Are they growing alright at least or not at all? If I allow for about 60% filter efficiency, you're at about 5x turnover, which could cause problems with nutrient distribution. What kind of plants do you curetnly have in the tank?

Thanks for the extra information. Sorry, I'm bugging you with the questions, but I want to understand what you're running. What are you goals for your planted tank.

One more question, what's your filtration on your 10g? I'm curious.

I'd say the tube is about 1.5" wide, having just looked at it. It's made by Marineland if that helps at all. While I was out today, I tried to find higher wattage but Petsmart didn't carry anything that would fit in my hood :/ The plants in the 30 gallon are growing okay. Not too slow, but they aren't shooting up. I have Water Wisteria, Corkscrew Val, and I planted a package of bulbs labeled "Betta Bulbs" which I think are a form of aponogeton, once that sprouted though, it shot up and is now about 20" tall in less than a week.
The 10 gallon has pretty much the same filter, just in smaller form. Tetra Whisper 10i. I'm really happy with the 10 gallon. It has 15 watts of flourscent light and 25 of incandescent, untill I can make the trip to buy another flourscent. I have virtually the same plants in the 10 gallon which a few more species. The Wisteria in there is growing so FAST! I need to trim it once a week so it doesn't completely cover the top of the tank. I'm guessing it's because of the higher watts per gallon in there?
