Has Anybody Kept Hatchet Fish?

Hi all ,just looking into hatchet fish ,do they live at top of tank all the time,as i`ve got a 28l at the moment and wonder if they`re a schooling fish,and would they get along with corries and glowlight tetra and shrimp,just researching at moment ,so any advice appreciated.If they`re schooling what`s the minimum number?
Also are they easy to keep?

28L is too little for them IMO

Oh and you're overstocked

I think you're probably overstocked too.

Hatchets grow to around a couple of inches for most species, but some are even bigger. They need to be in shoals of at least 6 IMO.

What happens if i just settle on getting 2 shrimp until geting a bigger tank?

That sounds very sensible.

You don't have to try and cram in as many fish as you can; it's just as enjoyable to just sit and watch a few fish or shrimp as it is loads.
