why is no 1 replying. you get masive conversation about some idiot wanting to put neons in a coldwater bowl but not one f***in person has ever had this fish? im loosing my faith in this forum

lol... I'm sure lots of people have experience with neons... obviously not as many people have had experiences with this veija thing you're talking about..

might have better luck on a cichlid specific forum?

yeh i will, its just this forum has answered so many questions for me and i always try and help the other people. i just assumed that someone would have owned a cool fish like this otehr than some crappy ponsy little german ram with whitespot.

Crappy ponsy little german ram? I hope no one answers your question you are very rude.

thanks joel, as i said i havent a clue because i couldnt get any info on it. was hoping sum 1 else cd tell me just wether its an easy fish or not to keep. and for the record RAMS ARE PONSY, gay ####ing teddyboys and ther "gorgious" blue rams. there £2.50 get over yourself. and possibly the most easy cichlid to keep.

actually rams are harder to keep than 95% of the rest of the SA cichlids. but youe welcome :p

Hey kubora - don't hold back, tell us how you really feel

Seriously though, it's not surprising you don't get many replies when you throw a two year old paddy after 2 hours of no responses. Chill.

two hours? i postsed that after a day of no responce, i used to work at a lfs i know how easy rams are to keep. the only replys i got for this werent even about my fish. i went to maidenhead aquatics, and got a pair of new fish, i jsut wodnered if anybody had have them beofre, and yes i was rude but i had reason too, i can udnerstand you saying " i hope you get no response because your rude " well maybe i wouldnt be rude if i got a ####ing responce. im not throwing a paddy i have turrets syndrome or however the hell u spell it.

Ooops my mistake on the timing side of things. Still, you're not going to get a favourable reply if you swear, stamp your feet and insult people. Whether or not you truly have "Typing Tourette's" (sick joke mate), you need to calm down and remember your manners, for your own sake :good:

Now, you got any pics of these beauties? :)

kubora666, I think you are very rude and aggressive about your lack of response... are you really suprised no one wants to help you?. you need to remember that there are 12 and 13 year old children that view this site.

people do work for a living and can't mess around on the internet all day like you obviously. don't know what country you are from but clearly its one where you don't need manners to get on. :sly:

don't give this friendly and family sight a bad name please.

thank you :(

Not had the species you have, but have owned a Vieja intermedium. Try google search, and here's the Cichlid forum page for it:
http://www.cichlid-forum.com/profiles/species.php?id=98

If they're anything like my intermedium was, they'll like a current and a long tank, as they're speedy swimmers. I'd check into that info more thoroughly though, because the link I posted says they like calm water, but they did for the intermedium too - despite it loving a fast current. And I wouldn't say that all viejas were necessarily nasty, obviously there'll be a higher risk if you have a spawning pair. As I dont have any experience with hartwegi though, I may be completely off with that prediction, so dont take my word as gospel

And I replied out of the goodness of my heart, so can you do one thing in return? Try and think before you post, because all that anger and swearing isn't fair for the kids on the site to read, and it'll also make people ignore your posts in the future. And what's wrong with rams? I'd love some, and I love big cichlids - just cant own them any more, so rams were something I thought of for my community tank. We got angels instead though, no doubt they're "gay" (well, actually, I have my suspicions).... :hey:

I was right about the current:
