Thought this would be helpful for newish fish-keepers (like myself) who want a fairly manageable tank with nice looking fish. :)

Harlequin Rasboras can grow to a maximum size of 2 inches and therefore at least a 15 gallon is recommended to start (a larger tank may be needed further on in time)

They prefer groups of 8 or more, this would ensure safety in numbers and would keep them stress free and also bring there colours out. also a tank temperature from 72-80 degrees Fahrenheit is recommended  and also a PH of 6.00 to 7.50 is ideal for these fish to thrive in a happy environment.

The harlequin Rasbora is a quiet little fish that does well in a peaceful tank and prefers to be stocked with non-aggressive fish such as guppies or platys. and recommended food for them would be flake and freeze dried bloodworms as well as brine shrimp to bring their colours out.

Hope this helped for people who were looking to add some into their tank (like me) and gave them a little bit of an insight to make sure they were making the right decision.

That was a nice thought.  We do have a section for species profiles, which includes the harlys (Trigonostigma heteromorpha) here.

But they are great beginner fish as their demands are fairly low, and they are amongst the most peaceful fish you'll ever encounter.

I've got nine of them myself, and I really do love them.  Similar, but slightly smaller fish are: Trigonostigma hengeli, and
T. espei - these can be harder to find sometimes though.

I have 6 and they are my second favourite in my community tank :)

We have 12 of them ourselves and I do like their copper and deep blue/black colouring.
Generally they keep themselves to themselves and there is the rare spat amongst one orr two of them.
Apart from that, they are a great community fish. Ours are kept at 79 F so that the GBR doesn't feel too uncomfortable.

That explains the sig pic and the profile pic.    I should be more observant and put two and two together!

Yeah they are probably my favourite tropical fish, In my previous set-up they had red tinged tails and a deep copper colouring, truly an amazing fish! :)
definitely one of the first species of fish going into my tank once it has cycled :p

They are also supposed to be a very hardy fish. Given that ours have lasted a year with us, I must be doing something right or they are as hard as nails

Some have been known to live for up to 6 years in the right conditions. Hopefully you will have the pleasure of keeping them for many more years to come
