Going to stock my tank up again with hardy fish...As some of you have read i have had a big problem with my water due to fish poop and other bits like illnesses!!!

Recently done my test and all is gud thank goodness....the LPS said to leave it few days and then can re-stock with fish, as i lost quite as few due to the problem.

I love guppies & platies, but does anyone else have any other ideas for other fish? that are hardy but also nice!!!

Any suggestions appriciated cheers guys "H"

pic of new fry coming soon:):):)

Just checking, but do you know that any bacteria that have grown in your filter will probably die in the few days without fish unless you are adding ammonia to your tank while there are no fish. So no ammonia = no bacteria = starting cycling the tank from scratch when you add new fish.

Sorry if I sound narky but just had to check.

If I have misunderstood and you do still have some fish in there you can disregard what I said above.

I like platies too. Not sure what else I would suggest.

Hay yeah...i totally understand i have fish in there but only a few and they seem fine..fingers crossed.
want to wait few days b4 adding any new ones if any other problems occur, but if not then i will add some on the weekend...

Any suggestions more welcome guys......i like pretty and nice fish
:):):)

Your tank is already fully stocked, if anything a bit overstocked with the sucky thing.
That is why you had the problem before.
It's not a bad ideal to improve the decor so the tank looks less bare.

Yep, overstocked with the sucky thing (which I suspect to be either a Chinese Algae Eater- adults about the width of your tank-, or a plec - adults more like the length of your tank!). Without the sucky thing, you are just about fully stocked- and that's before the guppies and platies start breeding! I would keep testing the water in case the bacteria has not caught up and be prepared to do regular water changes.

lmao...comon sucky thing
i dont no what its propa called so call it the "sucky thing" lmao

hehehe:):):)

It is probably a good idea to look into this. Some "sucky things" grow very large indeed, some "sucky fish" grow aggressive towards others, and some may have special requirements.

Common sucky thing? Err hope you don't mean a common pleco, if so then it will grow longer than your tank!
Do a search for common plecos on this forum or google and see if any pictures match!
